This work explores the historical events that led to the assassination of Abraham Lincoln through the eyes of his assassin, John Wilkes Booth, and the persecution that gripped the nation for the 12 days that immediately followed. Michaels uses a wide range in his musical composition, along with beautifully crafted lyrics that really encapsulate the feel of the time. This work is already available for readings, workshops and productions. We are looking for a community of followers who, like us, are theater lovers and want to spread the word so INFAMOUS can reach its destined heights.
A story that spans American history in this way is worth interpreting and reliving in this divisive time. The death of Abraham Lincoln from the perspective of his murderer, John Wilkes Booth, and the introspective examination of these two polarizing figures are sure to leave audiences stunned with emotion.
Is a Cleveland born playwright, musician and teacher. He studied Musical Theater at Ohio Northern University under Directors Nils Reiss, Katriona McPhee and Robert Behrens from 2003-2005.
David is currently the Theater/Orchestra Director of Cuyahoga Heights High School and Middle School. He has served as Director for such shows as Grease, All Shook Up, The Jungle Book and Aladdin Jr. He has also served as the Orchestra Director for several local shows including most recently, Avenue Q. David lives in Fairview Park, Ohio with his wife, Adriana, and daughter, Madeline. David can be found playing solo piano in Cleveland’s Little Italy neighborhood on Friday and Saturday nights.
